Update, July 21 (01:45 pm ET): Club is no longer invite-only.
After an earliest private beta teased closing week, Clubhouse today announced that information technology would be fashioning its debut on Android after an earlier annunciation this year. The app had taken off in the heyday of the pandemic and spawned galore imitators but had neglected the Android market for a piece. On that point are a few caveats. This is quieten a important, it's shut up invite-only, and you'll deman to be in the U.S. to purpose it (though an expansion to past English-speaking markets has been promised.)
Writing over on the Clubhouse blog, the team aforesaid:
Our plan over the close fewer weeks is to collect feedback from the community, fix whatsoever issues we go out, and work to tot up a couple of final features like payments and club instauration before rolling it out more broadly. [...]As a divide of the effort to keep the growth premeditated, we will be continuing the waitlist and invite system, ensuring that each modern community member can bring up along few close friends.
There are still a couple of lost features in that first issue. Clubhouse highlights them over on a separate FAQ:
- Topic following
- Localization of function and in-app translations
- Club creation or club management
- Twitter account or Instagram account linking
- Update name OR update username in-app
- Sidebar
- Payments (presently U.S.-simply for iOS)
- You rump report somebody from their profile, but reportage via the recent utterer selection wish be coming soon
You'll also be able to use Clubhouse only on Android 8.0 and above, though that shouldn't be an issue for any of the best Android phones.
Club appeared to be dragging its feet on the Humanoid app, allowing competitors to swoop in. Twitter's Spaces, e.g., is already available and more widely come-at-able to more users as of now than Club. Could this release help stop users from departure? It's hard to state at this point. IT's worth noting that Snapchat's revival of its Android app led to a growth in userbase even when competitors had copied its raison d'etre, so Clubhouse might cost able to regain mazed land if it builds its app out quickly sufficiency.

The invite system of rules has been an important function of our early chronicle. By adding people in waves...we've been fit to grow up Clubhouse in a metric way.
